Chinese New Year 2027 falls on Saturday 6 February, opening the Year of the Goat. The festival runs 15 days to Chap Goh Mei on Saturday 20 February. Here are the dates Singapore hosts will fight over, and the logic behind them.
The premium dates
Day 1, Saturday 6 February, and day 2, Sunday 7 February, are the classic home and shop blessing days, made even hotter in 2027 by landing on a weekend. Monday 8 February is the first working day, the single most requested office blessing slot of the year, with the 9am to 11am window gone first. Day 8, Saturday 13 February, is loved by businesses because 8 sounds like prosperity, and Chap Goh Mei on 20 February closes the festival on another weekend.
Choosing your time
Morning performances between 9am and 1pm dominate, the day is young and rising, which suits the symbolism of a blessing. If a geomancer has given your company an exact minute, we choreograph the first drumbeat to land on it. If not, pick a morning hour that lets your guests gather 15 minutes early, the drums will do the rest.
When to book
Our CNY 2027 calendar opens in October 2026. The honest pattern from years of doing this: book in October or November and you choose your exact hour, book in December and you choose your day, book in January and you take what remains. Matching the Date to Your Occasion
Homes lean day 1 and 2, the blessing greets the year at its threshold. Offices lean the first working day, Monday 8 February in 2027, so staff witness the year being opened, or day 8 for the prosperity wordplay. Retail does best in the first weekend when footfall peaks, your lion show is also your best crowd magnet of the quarter. Restaurants often pick the second week to re-energise after the reunion-dinner rush. There is no wrong day within the fifteen, the tradition holds through Chap Goh Mei.
If Your Preferred Slot Is Gone
Three honest options. Shift the hour, an 11.30am show on the same day carries the same blessing as 9.30am. Shift within the week, day 4 costs less than day 3 and nobody's fortune has ever suffered for it. Or split the difference: some companies do a compact single-lion blessing on the exact auspicious date and the full double-lion show with poles at their CNY dinner later in the month.
